North Island was very pretty, but everyone said South Island was the best.
At first, I thought it was just tourist talk talk, but in the end
I had to agree. The North Island of New Zealand is only the second
prettiest place on earth. After you see these pictures, you can make
up your own mind about the prettiest place.
Our South Island vacation began when we got off the ferry in Picton.
We spent the first day in nearby Blenheim where we visited Allison's brother Andy who's one of the local wine makers. After visiting Andy and the local wineries, we headed off to Abel Tasman National Park.
We made a few quick stops at the Nelson Lakes and Irimahuwhero Viewpoint on our way to the Pancake Rocks. Our final destination for the day was Hokitika.
The next day, we visited Lake Matheson and the Fox Glacier.
After Fox Glacier, we continued down the west coast passing Knight's Point, a sheep herder, his sheep, and some more of his sheep on the way to Queenstown.
Well, that's it for now. There's a lot more to come.
